چکیده
Abstract Altimetry satellites have an on-board microwave radiometer whose original function is to measure the Tropospheric Wet Delay (TWD) for their main sea level measurement using radar altimeter. The TWD, as it reflects amount of water vapor in atmosphere, could be used derive Precipitable Water Vapor (PWV) which would a good parameter study atmosphere variability, especially Indonesia where rainfall variable its climate. Studies on altimetry-derived PWV are conducted, include: analyzing correlation with observation dataset, and assessing how well they capture some key atmospheric phenomena Indonesia. results show that there fairly high between data monthly-scale 0.63 Pearson coefficient. Moreover, very such monsoon El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) variation. Thus, new way utilizing altimetry satellite introduced this paper: observe derived from radiometer. This open possibility both oceanographic meteorological studies measures oceanic parameter, altimeter radiometer, respectively.

Microwave Radiometer for Cloud Carthography: A 22channel groundbased microwave radiometer for atmospheric research
A 22-channel Microwave Radiometer for Cloud Carthography (MICCY) for the profiling of tropospheric temperature, humidity, and cloud liquid water has been developed. The radiometer has 10 channels along the high-frequency wing of the 22.235 GHz water vapor line, 10 channels along the low-frequency side of the 60 GHz oxygen complex, and 2 channels at 90 GHz. Two features make the radiometer a uni...
متن کاملAtmospheric Corrections for Altimetry Studies over Inland Water
Originally designed for applications over the ocean, satellite altimetry has been proven to be a useful tool for hydrologic studies. Altimeter products, mainly conceived for oceanographic studies, often fail to provide atmospheric corrections suitable for inland water studies. The focus of this paper is the analysis of the main issues related with the atmospheric corrections that need to be app...
متن کاملMicrowave Radiometer Resolution Optimization Using Variable Observation Times
This manuscript first revises the performance of total power, Dicke-type and noise-injection microwave radiometers. Equations for the radiometric resolution are revised or derived, and their performance in terms of the radiometric resolution improvement with respect to the ideal total power radiometer resolution is evaluated. It is then shown that the radiometric resolution of noise-injection r...
متن کاملScheduling a constellation of agile earth observation satellites with preemption
In this paper, we consider a scheduling problem for a set of agile Earth observation satellites for scanning different parts of the Earth’s surface. We assume that preemption is allowed to prevent repetitive images and develop four different preemption policies. Scheduling is done for the imaging time window and transmission time domain to the Earth stations as well. The value of each picture ...
متن کاملAzimuth variation in microwave scatterometer and radiometer data over Antarctica
While designed for ocean observation, scatterometer and radiometer data have proven very useful in a variety of cryosphere studies. Over large regions of Antarctica, ice sheet and bedrock topography and the snow deposition, drift, and erosional environment combine to produce roughness on various scales. Roughness ranges from broad, basin scale ice-sheet topography at 100 km wavelengths, to larg...
